If you've got 10 minutes to spare then step into the haunting world of "Maid of Pestilence" where you take the role of a Plague Doctor who wants to break quarantine to finally be with his wife again...

Made within a week for ScreamJam, October 2023!

Unfortunately no WebGLBuild since bug fixing will probably take me forever XD

This is very moody and atmospheric! I like the design of the animals and objects you can interact with (player also looks really nice). I also really like the scratchiness of the art when the player realized what happened to his wife. It's a nice way of showing his emotional state.

This is a nice result for a solo jam and a good base for something more if you want to continue to work on it.

Sound Design and music create a sorrowfull and slightly scary mood. The art style perfectly fits this mood and definitely is something special - I loved it. I also really liked the interactions with NPC's and the folklore in the main menu - both gave the game a nice touch and some more MOOD.
The font was at times hard to read (for me at least), but it also fit the - can you guess it? - MOOD, so I know why you chose this font.

Some ciritque:
- You can't quite recognize that the character is running If you don't focus on the background really hard. Yes, you realize the running works, after the first appearence of the enemy, but it would be more immersive If the PC had a different or faster animation for running OR at least that the SFX for the steps would be a little faster. I know this was made in a short time, so this was definitely not a priority.

- The continue buttons and key space were a little of (downwards) and a little small, so that you had to "find" the interactions space by clicking multiple times. Also not a priority in this short time span of course. But this little "problem" was definitely balanced with the UI, that showed you, when you could interact wih the key or the continue-button. So that's also a plus :)

All in all actually really great work!
Loved the raven! "Nevermore!" :)
